It's Official....I am 30!

Although we celebrated a couple of weekends ago, I officially hit the big 3-0 yesterday. I think I actually felt a little taller.....hmmm, maybe not, but I definitely don't mind being 30 and will not be one of those people who celebrates their "29th" birthday for the next 30 years. :)

I'm actually happy to make it to 30. I've survived melanoma twice and continue to try and stay on top of that one, and I survived (albeit barely it seems) delivering Grant early with HELLP syndrome. The way I see it, I had a few small battles to fight to even get to 30! (Disclaimer: I am also acutely aware that these little hiccups aforementioned are NOTHING compared to what many of you have endured. I've read my fair share of heart wrenching blogs enough to know that my troubles are few and my blessings are many.)

So, my birthday started with a nice gift from Grant. He slept in an hour later than usual and got up at 8:00am. Awesome. Then shortly after feeding him the doorbell rang and it was a delivery for moi. Yes, sweet Auntie Jill sent me birthday flowers! Gorgeous birthday flowers! I absolutely LOVE getting flowers of any kind so this was the perfect gift. They are so beautiful, Jill! Thank you so much!

My boys took me to breakfast (one of my FAVORITE things to do) on Saturday morning. Grant was an "angel" as our server said and slept through most of it allowing me and Jason to have some nice, quiet conversation over our eggs and coffee. :)

And then we met up with my parents and my cousin, Jenn, and husband, Josh, at the Ritz Carlton for some yummy guac and margaritas. Yes, I took my baby to a bar but felt a little better about it when we noticed we were not the only ones there to have a baby with us. I mean, it must be alright if other people are doing it, too, right?! :) Whatever, the margaritas were awesome!

Thanks for yet one more celebration to ring in the 30's guys! Love you.

So get this-- apparently Geoff and some of his Chamber cronies were at the Ritz-Carlton bar around 10 pm Saturday!! How weird is that?

(I had to delete above comment because it had a typo and I couldn't deal with that!! :-)

Happy Birthday Lindsay! You are going to LOVE being 30. It was one of my favorite years. There is a certain kind of confidence and attitude that comes with it :)
Love and miss you,
Laurie
