Spring Days

Last Tuesday was a very fun, very busy, beautiful spring day. We started off the morning by heading up to Grant's school to ride the train with the rest of his class. It was the perfect morning for a train ride! :)

After getting off the train we headed to Coppell to pick up Gigi and Mimi and take them to the Dallas Arboretum for a picnic. It was beautimous!

And to top it off there just happened to be a petting zoo set up that day at the Arboretum. Have I explained how much my child LOVES animals?!?! It's insane. We think he's destined to be a veterinarian. So, G sees the petting zoo and takes off and proceeds to run around to all the animals calling them by name. Yes, he also has some kind of crazy, super-duper language skills and I swear it's not because I'm a speech therapist. We don't know where he got it from but it's pretty funny!

And of course, no trip all the way to East Dallas would be complete without a stop at Casa Linda Bakery for some YUMMY treats! Yep, it was a good day. :)

Last 31st Birthday Post

Truly we celebrated my 31st birthday for over a week. The culmination was an ice cream sundae/Sprinkle's cupcake party planned by Jason with all of my family. So nice to all be together. We missed my Grandaddy though.

My awesome parents took Grant home for a sleepover at their house that night so we could go out with friends for dinner at the Twisted Root. So yummy and such good company!

It started snowing on our way to dinner that night and this is what we woke up to the next morning...

Snow....on the first day of spring....in Texas. We are living in the twilight zone. :)

Dr. Seuss

These Pjs Grant has make me laugh so hard. When he wears them I always think of a Dr. Seuss character but I can't figure out which one??? Any ideas?

Birthday Week

Yep, trying to draw out the 31st birthday celebration as long as I can. :) I have had great help from friends in making that happen this week. :)

Jamie brought me a GIANT cupcake cake on Wednesday night! It was strawberry on top and white cake on the bottom and it was divine....not to mention cute!

And then today, Rachel and Audrey, took me to lunch and then we went to play over at Mimi's house. So much fun was had with these girls and needless to say, Mimi LOVED every minute of it too.

Gigi showed up...

...with the big bag full of toys!!!

Showing Audrey his best asset. (wink, wink)

The cute picture...

...and then the meltdown.

I love how Rach and I are calmly smiling for the camera as the kids go every which way! So funny to me. :) Haha!

Thanks for such a fun afternoon ladies! Your girls are the BEST, Travis. :)

Happy Birthday To Me!

Yes, it's my birthday and although the passing along of Grant's stomach flu to various family members including myself have thwarted our party plans, my boys have still treated me to a very lovely birthday weekend. And God did his part as well by allowing for 70 degree weather with blue skies and sunshine. Heavenly!

We spent most of our day yesterday at the Dallas Arboretum....

And the first thing your baby self has to do when you get onto the big, wide-open grounds....

...is run....

...and run...

...and fall....

...and run...

...and run some more.

And after all that running then there's time to smell the roses...errr whatever these are...

And maybe meet Ferdinand the Bull made out of some grasses and flowers. Grant was not especially impressed but I thought it was neat.

There are several water features on the grounds and of course Grant always wants to get wet!

And for our sweet friend Kari who loves tulips....they were beautiful!

And some real, live "fishies" at which Grant yelled "Hi fishies!" a million time as we sat and watched them swim.

There was lots of live music being played all over the park which is a HUGE draw for our little guy.

Grant loves, loves, loves the little kid-sized benches they have all over...

And this is the only picture of the 3 of us which obviously was not Grant's idea of a good time....

And then we saw this statue of a boy and girl which we were kind of confused about...

Grant had to check them out from every angle....Are they real?

But he finally decided they were friendly and gave them a wave and a "hi kids"!

Yep, it was a good day! :)
