Thanksgiving Feast

It was quite a feast at Mom and Dad's for Thanksgiving....and good company too! My brother and sister-in-law were in town from Oregon and my grandparents were all there. The huge turkey and all the sides made the day complete and the Cowboys and Longhorns did not disappoint this crew either. :) Good times!

Looking a bit like a stuffed turkey myself here! I was having some pretty major contractions after all that food in the afternoon and was forced to take it easy for a few hours. Thankfully they did eventually subside.

Grant provided the blessing this year. (Hope this video works....I don't think I've ever uploaded video content to the blog before!)

A Special Birthday Wish

Happy 94th birthday, Granddaddy! Sure miss you lots and so wish you were here to meet all these great-grandsons. You and Grant would surely be having a big time together and I'd give anything to be able to get a shot of you and Blake like this in a few more weeks....

....but will have to just be grateful I have a shot like this of you and Grant. Love you, Granddaddy.

Family Photos

Our friend, Scott, took a few family pictures for us last weekend. And, yes, I was still feeling lousy but I wasn't about to try and reschedule a photo shoot so close to the holidays. I'm not even sure Scott could have rescheduled us anytime before Blake is due to arrive! So we made the best of it and I was so impressed with what we got! Yay Scott! Here is a little sampling....

If you had seen the chaos going on with Grant and these photos you would be even more amazed at the final product Scott was able to put together. :) If you're in need of a photographer check out Scott's stuff at www.scotthollrahphotography.com. Thanks a million, Scott!

Baby Shower

We got to throw Jenn a little baby shower this past weekend. I was so glad she was feeling up to a little partying in celebration of the new little man in her life. :)

And, yes, do you notice the "Nothing Bundt Cakes" cake???? I was not responsible for desserts but Nina hit the nail on the head with this crew! Like I've said before, this family now has to have one at every get-together! :) It was delish, Nina!

We had a good time visiting, eating, opening gifts, and playing a few party games. So glad it all worked out and we were able to do this for Jenn.

*On a side note for those of you who have seen/talked to me lately, yes, I was terribly sick during the party. Grant and I have been trying to kick some kind of virus for about 2 weeks now. No fun at all! But I wasn't about to let that stop me from having a good time and celebrating baby Caleb (with the blessing of the new mama of course - I stayed far away from her except for those 2 pictures!).

Love

I went in as usual to Grant's room last night to check on him before I went to bed and this is what I found....

I just love it that he is so into books and the library. There were no less than 12 library books in bed with him (that I gingerly removed) and I know for a fact that he can read about 8 of them by memory. So funny!

Love you little man!

Fall at the Arboretum

Jason had Veteran's Day off last Friday and so we headed to the Arboretum. It was a BEAUTIFUL day and we have been meaning to make the trip over there to see the pumpkins but just hadn't made it until last Friday. So glad we went!

Soooooooo many pumpkins!

Cinderella had a pumpkin house at the Arboretum this year made of white pumpkins...

.....complete with her portrait and glass slipper inside.

A very nice lady offered to try and get a few shots of the 3 of us.

Turns out the operative word was "try."

Um, yeah, never got a good one. Nice try though right?!?!

Had to stick our hands in the negative edge pool.

We topped off the day with a little lunch at the HIghland Park Cafeteria. Yummy!!! Love it when Daddy gets a day off!
