Lariette Reunion

I had the pleasure of attending a reunion for all of the Lariettes who danced under Mrs. Lynd's instruction in high school. This dance team and director were the people with whom I spent the vast majority of my high school years. We were dancing every morning by 6:30 or 7am, performing at football games Friday nights, basketball games during the week, and then of course traveling for competition season. It was a lot of hours, a lot of dancing, a lot of work, and invaluable lessons learned.

It is a testament to the impact Mrs. Lynd had on all of us girls as over 70 former Lariettes showed up for this reunion that spanned the 10 years Mrs. Lynd served as director. She is a very special lady and it was so great to catch up with her and many other friends I had not seen in several years.

Fall? Is That You?

Praise God in Heaven for the cooler weather we've been having lately. This native Texan truly thought we might melt this summer. And this little guy is pretty happy to be able to go outside and do some driving. :)

Maryland

So I took a little trip sans Grant last week to visit these lovely people....

The original plan was for me to take Grant with me to visit Em, Seth, and Brooks but after the hellacious ride to and from Florida Gigi graciously offered to keep Grant so I could make the trip in one piece.

While there we did a little shopping/fall beverage sipping along the main street in Ellicott City...so quaint and cute!

And I was also lucky enough to take in a Rockville High football game with the BEST defensive coordinator around hovering on the sidelines! Brooks was loving watching his daddy coach "all the quarterbacks."

About half time the rain got the better of us and we headed out to partake of some very yummy burgers. They had a great play area for Brooks to use while Em and I chowed down and tried a few self portraits.

Thanks for a really fun week in Maryland guys! I had the best time and can't wait to come back once Camille arrives! Lovies.

Go Frogs!

We've been cheering on the horned frogs lately (except last Saturday when I held out for my Baylor Bears....we know how well that ended - ugh). Grant LOVES to go to the games and clap and cheer with the fans. We were surprised at how willingly he sat in the stands and watched.

Da Bears

It's football season folks and around our house Daddy cheers for Da Bears which brought on this Daddy-instigated photo shoot. Oh my....

Notice how we have not even snapped the onesie???? Nice.

Griffin

Our sweet little friend (destined to be a Baylor Bear like his mommy and daddy) spent the evening with us a couple of weeks ago while his parents went to the Rangers game. Griffin had a great time watching Grant take a bath and Grant was kind enough to introduce Griff to all of his animals that take baths regularly at our house. :) Pretty cute.

Back To School

The school year has started and Grant is attending his Mother's Day Out program again this year. Only this time he's going Tuesday AND Thursday in an attempt to save Mommy's sanity. :)

I will confess to less than perfect mom behavior as I got in my car after dropping Grant off last Tuesday and realized I didn't snap one single picture. Don't normal moms do that kind of stuff?! Ugh. Poor Grant. I did get a couple of random, blurry shots at the end of the day though.

Grant really seems to like school and had no problems going into his new classroom with his new teachers, Ms. Laura and Mrs. Christine. They even said he napped great on his little nap mat and was the first one asleep. I wasn't sure how he'd do with that since he's never slept anywhere but in a crib.

I'm so happy our little guy enjoys going to school and being with other kids. I hope that will continue for many years to come.

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, UNCLE CRAIG!!!
