Prayer

Please pray for our sweet friends April and Cory as they lost their little boy, Evan, yesterday about 3 weeks before his due date. Evan was delivered by C-section yesterday late afternoon but had already gone to be with Jesus. We love this precious family and our hearts are broken for them. Please pray for a peace that surpasses understanding for this dear family and for a quick recovery from surgery for April.

Happy Birthday....and Other News

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Jason!! We got up early to make Jason some yummy french toast for his 29th birthday today and set out all of his presents to open before he left for work! We'll celebrate with family tonight but you've got to start your birthday off with a big celebration, right?! We hope your day got off to a GREAT start, hon!

In other news, mom and I (and of course Baby Saf) flew to California this past weekend for Jessie's bridal shower and her 25th birthday bash. We had a GREAT time and as a nice bonus, her best friend and maid of honor, Wendy, got engaged Saturday night! We were so glad to be able to be a part of so many fun celebrations!

Jessie's mom, Gail, treated us to a very yummy dinner in Balboa for Jessie's birthday Saturday night. Complete with chocolate cake and confetti icing (Jessie's favorite) and oh so good!! And then Jessie's Aunt Linda (with a little help on the grill from Uncle Jan) hosted a fabulous shower on Sunday at their lovely home! We had such a good time with you guys! Thanks for inviting us to California for the weekend. Can't wait to go back in just a few more days for the REALLY BIG event! :)

Tick, tock....

We have started the count down to Craig and Jessie's wedding! In just 25 days those 2 will be tying the knot in southern California. Can't believe it's almost here. I'm sure this little boy I'm carrying is very excited that he will at least get to hear his aunt and uncle get married. (We'll have to show him pictures later.) Craig and Jessie moved their stuff to Ft. Worth this past week and Jessie heads to Cali tomorrow to get all the final details ready for the big day! We're so excited! Here are a couple of photos a friend took of the growing Gipson/Safran clan back in May (before I started showing). Guess we'll have to re-do these once Baby Saf arrives. The pictures below were not taken professionally as they were a rather last minute idea but we know just the photographer to call when we do the next pro photo shoot.....my friend Courtney Christianson who is a beautiful photographer! You can see her work at www.anthologieimages.com. She takes FABULOUS photographs!

Happy 4th of July Weekend

We have had such a fun weekend celebrating July 4th! We got up Friday morning and went to the Coppell 4th of July parade with my parents. We had a great time seeing old friends and all the red-white-blue festivities. I think Dakota had the best time though. It was her first parade and she was completely over-stimulated but thought it was all fantastic. Sadly, I did not take any pictures. :( After the parade my grandparents came over and Dad grilled up some burgers and dogs with fresh watermelon and of course some fried chicken. Can you think of any July 4th dish we left out?? It was good eatin' yesterday. :)

After a little nap we headed over to our friends' Mark and Kari's house for yet another July 4th party with Mark manning the grill and turning out some beautiful burgers and corn on the cob! So yummy! Kari had made a fruit pizza for dessert that looked just like the American flag....truly a piece of art, Kari! And then after sending their sweet daughter Rylie off with her grammy and papa, we headed to Plano for some fireworks. It was a great show as always (this is starting to become an annual tradition, M & K). We had a GREAT time! Happy Independence Day everyone!

We thought we might have felt some kicking from little "he" Saf (I know....terrible.....we are working on a real name for him) with the loud fireworks show but he slept right through it.
