Declaring Success

Well, we started potty training using the 3 day method about a month ago and I am finally publicly declaring success. We have had 1 accident in the last month and while I have heard there can be regression we haven't seen any signs of that yet. (It will probably happen as soon as I publish this post, though! Haha!)

In the interest of full disclosure Grant still wears a nighttime diaper when he sleeps. We're just not able to go all night and I'm too lazy to stay in his room all night and help him get up in the night to go to the bathroom. I'm just hoping that part will come along in time.

Our other dilemma has been keeping the newly potty-trained gentleman in his bed until a decent hour in the morning. Prior to potty training we used a baby proof door knob in his room so he couldn't get out. (I know that's probably terrible to admit!) But it worked great so we went with it. Well now that he's using the potty we felt like he should have access to it at all times so we took the door knob off. No problem the first couple of weeks but recently I have had a little blond child telling me he's done sleeping sometime between 5:45am and 6:30am. That's too early for this mama.

So enter the genius of our new clock.....

The whole clock turns green when it's ok for Grant to leave his room in the morning. Works like a charm I tell you. Best money I ever spent. So I'm declaring success on this little dilemma too. Only wish I'd thought of this clock idea first and made some money off of it! :)
