4th of July Weekend

We started off the weekend with a little swimming and lunch at Aunt Jenn and Uncle Josh's house. The pooches had a good time too and both of them were thrown in the pool by their respective daddies before the afternoon was over. Our half poodle, Dakota, did not appreciate the dunking but Lord have mercy it was hot so I think in the end she was glad to be wet.

On the 4th we headed to Coppell for the annual 4th of July parade. Waiting for the parade to begin....

Oh the glorious fire trucks! Highlight of the parade for the little man.

We had cupcakes and sang "Happy Birthday, America" though when we asked Grant later who's birthday it was he was only slightly mistaken in answering "Miss America."

And the paparazzi that photographs every thing Grant does. Heaven help us this family needs some more kids or mine is going to be spoiled rotten!

Everyone took a little afternoon siesta and then it was on to Mark and Kari's house for a little cook out before we headed to the fireworks show. It was Grant's first time to see a big fireworks show and he loved it. I was too "in the moment" to take any pictures but it was a great evening. Thanks for inviting us (for the 5th year in a row!), Mark and Kari!!
