Splash Park

We've just returned from a long Memorial Day weekend in Eastern Oklahoma at a big cabin like the one we rented in January. We took my parents and Mimi with us and had a fabulous time but that post is going to take awhile. I still have to sift through all the pictures. So stay tuned for that.

Today, though, after an unfortunate discovery, we came across a very fortunate discovery. Let me explain. Grant I decided that today would be a great day to have our first swim of the season at our local pool. So we invited Melissa and Griff to join us, slathered on our sunscreen, packed our lunch, and headed up to the pool only to discover it doesn't open on weekdays until NEXT week. What's a mama to do?! So we called Melissa and Griff to give them the heads up and then I headed home all the while wracking my brain about who to call to ask if we could come crash their pool. (And yes, I know there are several of you I could have called. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be hearing from me this summer!) You see, some little guy had been told he was going swimming and was not about to just go back home!

A little thought was tickling my memory about a splash park in Colleyville so at the red light I googled it and sure enough, there it was! Right near our house and totally free! It was fantastic!

We busted out our picnic lunch at the splash park....

And enjoyed the surroundings and screaming kids while we ate.

Grant had a really great time!
