Embassy "Sweeeeet"!

Mom and Dad had bought a Groupon for a one night stay at the Embassy Suites near the Galleria but it was set to expire March 31st and well, they were currently in a moving van somewhere between here and Oregon. So we were the happy beneficiaries of said Groupon and had a lovely "vacation" last Saturday night.

I had forgotten how awesome Embassy Suites are with their free happy hour and free HUGE breakfasts. We arrived just in time to grab a yummy adult beverage and an orange juice for Grant along with fried onion rings, hush puppies, and chips and dip. (My kid was loving this.) And to top it off, they had swans in the lobby to entertain us.

Yes, Queen and Barron live at the Embassy Suites and are extremely friendly swans. Grant could not get enough.



We headed over to the play area at the Galleria and then had dinner down by the ice rink so Grant could watch the ice skaters while we ate.

The next morning Grant woke up wanting "breakfast with the swans" which we did and then headed to the indoor pool. It was a nice little swim until someone filled their diaper with yuckiness that required some hosing off in our room. More than enough said.

It was a really fun "getaway" and we may have to look up some more destinations with Embassy Suites in town for our next family vacation. Thanks Mom and Dad! We enjoyed your Groupon! :)
