For the last 3-4 weeks Grant has been especially fussy when he's awake. He does great at night sleeping 6-7 hours at a stretch but his days have been hard. We can tell he's uncomfortable much of the time. 2 weeks ago we started him on some reflux medicine but that hasn't seemed to do the trick. The only thing that seems to bring him any comfort is the stroller. So in good weather we stroll outside and in bad weather we stroll inside. I bet we've walked miles and miles around our house over the last couple of weeks.
We're going back to the doctor today and have an x-ray done (which I can't imagine will tell us anything) and then I suspect our pedi is going to want us to see a GI specialist. We'll see. We don't think anything is terribly wrong as Grant continues to gain weight and is still nursing well, but the poor little guy just seems so unhappy much of his waking hours and especially after feedings. :( We are praying we can find a solution to ease his discomfort.

Madeline had that problem - cried A LOT and just seemed uncomfortable during the waking hours. We'd have to hold her like a football and walk around swinging her from side to side to get her to calm down. She slept, ate, gained weight- after a month it went away. We didn't know if it was colic or gas or what, but it did go away. She also liked being in her carrier on top of the dryer while it was running. But it is not fun to sit in the laundry room watching your baby sit. But it did work. The joys of motherhood!
We will be praying that Grant will fell better and comfy again soon! Glad to hear that he is sleeping through the night :)
Hope all is better soon!
I am so sad your sweet baby is having issues during the day.
Obviously I am no doctor, but do you think it is gas related?
Bailey was the same way the first couple of weeks...off and on upset and we were going through Mylecon like crazy...and then I tried cutting dairy...and his tummy seemed much better. Just a thought. Again, I am no expert, but that is our experience...and now that we know about his food allergies...it all makes sense.
