Count Your Blessings

I'm too tired to post much but today was supposed to have been Grant's due date and instead he's a month old! Can't believe it! We're hanging in although this week has had it's set backs. I have gotten mastitis and am now running fever, hurting pretty badly (thank God for prescription pain meds), and am now back on antibiotics and hoping this one doesn't make me as sick to my stomach as the last one (just got off the first round from the UTI I had postpartum). My body obviously does not do delivery and motherhood very well yet. We're trying to find some humor in it all though and just keep hearing God say "Trust me." He is constantly reminding us that none of this will last forever and in the end we have a very healthy (now 6 lb. 2 oz.) baby boy. I keep hearing the chorus of a particular song we used to sing in church growing up, "Count your blessings name them one by one. Count your blessings see what God has done. Count your blessings. Name them one by one. Count your many blessings see what God has done." And thank heaven for Jason and my mom! They sure keep me going. And we are not without some small victories. I am off the blood pressure medicine and Grant's feeding skills are improving each week. Hooray!

I promise to post more pictures soon. Just don't have the energy tonight. Please keep praying for us when you think of it. We sure could use it.

Lindsay-
I'm praying for God to heal the mastitis quickly and renew your strength. What a blessing that Grant is already 6 pounds! All your hard work feeding and caring for him is showing!

Wow- things sure haven't been easy for you! I will keep praying that your health improves without any more setbacks. How great that you have a husband and mom that can take care of you! Hope you feel better soon- can't wait to see the little guy.

I pray things will only go uphill from here! i love that song you quoted, and Jaeden (who just turned 3) was actually singing that song in the car on our way home tonight. Just think of the joy, that Grant could be singing that same song in just 3 years!!
