A Big Crate

Since getting back from California we have really tried to start work on the nursery and get things ready for Grant's arrival. We can't believe we only have 9 or so weeks left until he gets here!! The crib arrived yesterday (took 8 weeks to get it.....who knew??!!) and Jason went and picked it up so we could put it together and get it in Grant's room. Dakota was a big help and we kept asking her if she knew who was going to sleep in the "big crate?" (Dakota is crate trained and sleeps in her own crate at night and when we are not home during the day.) She was very interested in this new big crate and was a big help to her papa in the assembly process. :)

Like the smart master's degree holders we are, we decided to assemble the crib in the living room because there's so much space which was a great idea until we realized that once assembled, the crib did not fit through the doorway to the nursery. Hehe. But we did finally get it all together and up in Grant's room. Dakota tested it out for us and we think if it will hold her, surely it will hold Grant just fine. :)

There's still lots of work to be done in the nursery but we feel better having a crib set up and it certainly makes it feel more real that yes, a new little person is going to be living with us pretty soon. YIKES! :)

Hi Lindsay! I got here through Emily's blog and wanted to congratulate you on your pregnancy! Such an exciting time and I'm anxious to read all about it! You're little guy will be blessed to have such good parents! And don't worry, my husband and I did the same dumb thing of setting the crib up in the family room only to realize it won't fit through the nursery door... it's just the first of the many dumb things you'll do as a first time parent!
Congrats!
