So you'd think our lives would be quiet and rather dull since Blake can't leave the house until like March which means we don't go any where except places with drive thrus. We even went to the car wash one day just to leave the house!
But the last week has been anything but dull and not really in a good way. Let me fill you in on our happenings of late and I'm choosing to focus on the silver lining of it all because it's been rather overwhelming.
Last Tuesday I was at the doctor with a swollen gland and ear infection. Silver Lining? Antibiotics.
Last Thursday Jason was sitting on the highway in traffic coming home from work when someone slammed into him. Silver lining? He wasn't hurt and the other guy had insurance though we're still dealing with getting the car fixed.
Sunday Grant was complaining that his ear hurt so he and Jason spent the better part of Sunday afternoon at the urgent care center. Silver Lining? Again, antibiotics.
Monday evening Grant began complaining of abdominal pain and it quickly escalated into screaming and writhing in pain for several hours. After multiple calls to the pediatrician on-call and some Maalox we ended up at the ER getting x-rays. Silver Lining? Grant was just full of gas....most likely due to the antibiotic we were giving him for the ear infection.
Tuesday (yesterday) Grant wakes up with one eye a bit red and swollen. I think it's just from the hours of crying and screaming the night before but by early afternoon it's pretty obvious it's pink eye. Probably picked up from waiting in the germ infested urgent care center on Sunday. Silver Lining? We got right into the pediatrician and again, antibiotic eye drops.
Ultimate silver lining? None of these things are serious and we're all going to be just fine. But man this mama is worn out. Which brings me to my last silver lining. By some miracle Blake has decided to start sleeping 6-8 hours at night. It feels so good to have some uninterrupted sleep! God always gives us mamas just what we need just when we need it. ;)

Keep counting the Blessings even if they are small. As the saying goes "this too shall end".
