Two

A few things I know about you at two, Grant:

1. You have a very sweet, compassionate heart. It bothers you when others are sad and you never want anyone to be mad at you. You give hugs and kisses freely in person and over the phone and you say "I love you" a lot which your daddy and I love.

2. You have an above average vocabulary for a two year old and talk constantly. You ask questions and want to answer the phone (although I only let you answer if it's Daddy or Gigi). And when you talk on the phone you try so hard to tell the other person what you've been doing. We can usually pick out enough words to get the jist. :)

3. You are a very high energy little guy and super coordinated. You mastered our neighborhood playground by 18 months and people are always so surprised at how well you are able to play on all the equipment.

4. You are slow to warm to strangers and keep a pretty serious face until you warm up to people. But you are so good about going to your classroom at school, the church nursery, and the playroom at the gym all by yourself.

5. You love cars, animals, phones (and gadgets of all sorts), shoes, hats, watches, remotes, music, bath time, books, balls, bounce houses, and planes. You like to watch and learn how things work and have incredible fine motor skills.

6. You like to read your toddler Bible and constantly shout out "God" when you see it. Some of your other favorite books right now are: "LMNO Peas" (courtesy of the Kentons), "The Little Engine that Could," "Goodnight Moon," "The Giving Tree," "Good Morning, Good Night," and "Love You Forever." Your Daddy and I are glad that you seem to like books so much even this early on in your little life. I hope you keep reading your whole life through!

7. You love music and singing. Some of the songs you like to sing are "Twinkle, Twinkle," "The Itsy-Bitsy Spider," and anything else on your Kids Praise CD, your Joe Scruggs CD, or your Go Fish Guys CD that you listen to every night.

8. You are an excellent sleeper and take a good nap every afternoon from about 12:30 or 1:00 to 3:00 or 3:30. You also go to bed very easily. You like to have your bottle while we read a story and then you turn on the music and the fan and get right into your crib. At night you go to bed around 7pm and get up around 7am.

9. You spend every Monday with Gigi while I go work at the hospital and on Tuesdays and Thursdays you go to Mother's Day Out which you seem to love.

10. You are wanting to do more and more things on your own like getting into the car seat by yourself and strapping yourself in, opening lids on any kind of bottle or tupperware container, getting out the bread to make toast, pushing the button to open the garage door, and cracking the egg in the bowl to make scrambled eggs.

You are a precious little boy with such a sweet spirit and I pray that your Daddy and I find the right way to guard and guide your tender heart. I love you my little man.
Love,
Mommy
