Well, we're launching into the wonderful world of blogging almost 12 weeks pregnant with Lil' Saf, which seems to be as good a reason as any to start up our own blog. We want our friends and family, especially those of you who do not live in the
Lonestar state, to have an easy way to keep up with the growing
Safran family. I do not aspire to be a daily blogger so please don't be disappointed, but I will try to keep you updated with all the coming changes.
If you had told us back in December that we'd find ourselves awaiting the arrival of a baby in November of this year, we would have thought you were crazy. The beginning of 2008 was certainly a roller coaster ride and we are awed at how it has all turned out. After the melanoma was removed in January we began to talk with doctors about the safety of pregnancy and all were very encouraging for us to go ahead with a family. We left it up to the Lord and he answered swiftly and decisively. So, here we are.
Gram
Safran sent Lil'
Saf his/her first pair of baby booties and we can't wait to put 2 tiny feet in them. It's the perfect gift for a baby arriving just before winter. Yes, it does get cold here in the winter although not to the same degree as Chicago,
Reedsburg, or
Darien.
We went for our 12 week sonogram today and saw a healthy, energetic baby (obviously some
Safran genes as Lil' Saf flipped and turned the whole time we were watching). We even heard the heartbeat which certainly makes the baby seem all the more real to us. We have to admit it hasn't all sunk in just yet as we've mostly been concentrating on just surviving the first trimester. That morning sickness is much more potent than it sounds, but I'm starting to feel better now. Jason thinks I turned a corner about a week and a half ago and is glad to "have my wife back."
Thanks to all of you for your sweet cards and packages of morning sickness remedies (I do think the
preggo pops kinda work, Em). We're looking forward to sharing all these new experiences with you!
Love,
Jason, Lindsay, Dakota, and Lil' Saf

How can I pass up the chance to be the first comment? We are soooooooooo excited to meet Lil Saf!!! Here's what you need to do: 1) Have a boy; 2) Have him skip a grade; 3) Send him to Baylor with Brooks so they can live in The Village and perhaps build a Super Bed...oh wait. Hmmm. Maybe not. Okay, we'll just settle for best friends.
Oh my goodness! I am SOOO excited for you guys!!! Congratulations!!!!

Please forgive me for misspelling your last name in the previous post! It happens to me all the time and I will just have to blame it on the pregnancy hormones! So excited to welcome baby Safran in November. We are expecting a boy we found out. Lots of love.
